Every Family's situation is different and there are several variables that determine what happens to the Parents home and when. 90% of all Seniors desire to Age in Place, therefore, it may be possible for One or Both parents to stay in their home with some modifications and the addition of In-Home care. This can be a more affordable approach instead of choosing an Assisted Living Community. If the Senior Adult chooses or needs to move to an assisted Living Community, then the Family can sell the home and use the proceeds to pay for the monthly expenses. In the event that one or both parents have passed away, the Family could keep the home as an investment or sell the home and distribute the proceeds as directed by the Senior's Will or Trust.
The primary purpose of the Aging and Disability Program is to coordinate the delivery of services and programs which promote an environment conducive to enhancing the quality of life of the region’s older population.
