Ryan, an Atlanta-based professional, faced a life-altering challenge when his mother, Patti, suffered a massive stroke just weeks after being diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer in December 2019. Juggling her medical crisis alongside his stepfather’s recovery from colon cancer, Ryan became his mother’s legal guardian, navigating a lack of prior planning. With their home uninhabitable, he worked tirelessly to create a safe space while preparing for her chemotherapy.

As the pandemic struck, he transitioned into full-time caregiving, later moving her into a nursing home in 2021 while handling legal and financial complexities, including selling her home after his stepfather’s passing. Inspired by these experiences, Ryan obtained his real estate license and the Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation, dedicating his career to assisting older adults in major life transitions.

Despite hardships, he achieved remarkable success, ranking among the top in his brokerage by 2023. Through it all, Ryan remains deeply grateful for his mother’s influence, emphasizing the importance of planning for the unexpected and offering guidance to others navigating life’s pivotal moments.
